Olivia's House Journal
This was a journal I made for Olivia's House. Olivia's House is a grief and loss center for children who have just lost a loved one. Throughout the journal we had to prompt the kids to write down their feelings and try to open up. My concept of the balloons came from the program. At the end of the program they do a balloon releasing. My book starts out with one single red balloon in a group of white balloons showing how the children feel alone. Then by the end of the journal there are a lot of red balloons showing how they no longer feel like they are alone in the world after being able to express themselves in this journal.
